Korea Wall Art

Korea Wall Art is where I bring together a collection shaped by real places, quiet observations, and moments that stayed with me long after I left. This body of work isn’t about spectacle—it’s about atmosphere, structure, and the subtle rhythm of life as I experienced it across Korea. From layered urban scenes to restrained compositions that lean into simplicity, each image reflects how I see and remember these locations. Korea Wall Art fits naturally into a broader fine-art approach, where the focus remains on authenticity, composition, and presence rather than distraction. I’ve built this collection to feel cohesive yet varied, offering pieces that stand on their own while still connecting to a larger visual narrative rooted in real-world experience.

Open Palms Reach Before a Curving Tower and Clouded Sky

Beneath Garak Tower East in Seoul’s Seocho district, I found a view where public sculpture and architecture seemed to reach upward together. This black and white photograph looks past enormous open hands toward the tower’s flowing facade. I worked from a low angle, letting the palms and forearms fill much of the frame.

The hands have a broad, reflective surface, with light tracing the fingers and the curves near the wrists. Their spread shapes contrast with the closely spaced vertical lines on the building behind them. I wanted both to remain clear: the familiar form of a hand, made unusually large, and the more abstract pattern of the tower.

A second building enters from the right, bringing a straighter grid of windows into the composition. Its edge leans inward in this upward view, making the sky feel enclosed between the structures. Clouds fill that remaining space and give the brighter fingers a softer background.

I took time shifting my position until the sculpture and tower felt balanced within the frame. From below, their scale becomes part of the experience, but the smaller surface details still matter. Monochrome connects the reflections on the hands with the light and dark bands of the architecture. The photograph holds what first made me stop here: a human shape and a modern building sharing the same upward direction, each with a different way of catching the light.

© Dan Kosmayer, 2025

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0552/9685/2047/files/Seoul-Giant-Hand-Sculpture-Black-and-White-Architectural-Photography-1.jpg?v=1792235362
south-korea-seoul-modern-skyscraper-architectural-geometry-black-and-white
Seoul Skyscraper Reflections Black and White Geometric Photography

Angled Glass Panels and Reflected Towers Form a Dense Grid

Walking through Seoul, I stopped across the street from a tower I had been studying and looked upward. It is a view of Seoul that holds my attention through shape, light, and the building's own changing lines.

© Dan Kosmayer, 2025

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0552/9685/2047/files/Seoul-Curved-Skyscraper-Black-and-White-Architectural-Photography-1.jpg?v=1792235213
south-korea-seoul-seocho-architectural-reflection-monochrome-wall-art
Seoul Skyscraper Reflections Black and White Architectural Photography

Mirrored Towers Beneath the Sweep of a Curving Facade

Walking around this tower in Seoul's Seocho District, I kept finding new arrangements of the surrounding city in its glass. I photographed it in black and white to concentrate on the meeting of those straight reflected towers and the building's own flowing lines.

The low angle makes the window ribs spread wide at the bottom and gather toward the roof. Between them, other skyscrapers rise through the glass in separate sections, their rectangular forms interrupted by the panel grid. Above it, the facade changes direction in a broad wave before meeting the pale, clouded sky.

I spent time circling the building because even a small change in my position rearranged what appeared on its surface. From that position, I could bring the flowing metal surface and the heavier concrete wall into the same composition.

The panels form a grid that bends with the building rather than keeping a flat, regular shape. The right wall grows larger toward the foreground, and its lit lower edge echoes the light along the opposite side.
