Dan Kosmayer Launches Etsy Store

I’ve opened an Etsy store for my photography prints. It gives people another place to find my work, whether they already follow my photographs here or come across one for the first time while browsing Etsy.

The reason is fairly simple. I spend a lot of time making photographs, and I want more people to see them. Some might be looking for a place they know. Others might stop at a photograph because of its colour, its light or a detail they cannot quite explain. I like that I cannot predict which image will make someone pause.

The work comes from the same years of walking, travelling and paying attention that fill this website. My travel photography collection moves between cities, coastlines and quieter places. The street photographs often begin with something much smaller: a passing figure, a shopfront or a moment I would have missed had I kept walking.

I make photographs because something in front of me holds my attention. When someone else wants to live with that photograph on their wall, the connection becomes personal in a different way.

Opening another shop does not change how I make the work. These are photographs of places I have visited and scenes I have stood in front of. I explain why that matters to me in authenticity in photography.

For those who have followed my work over the years, thank you. I’ve written more about how it began in my story of four decades in photography. Etsy is another way of putting that work in front of people. I’m looking forward to seeing which photographs find a home.
