I photographed this view at dusk in 2011, when the contrast between the cool sky and warm lights gave the city a particularly clear colour rhythm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe reflections lead into the scene. They break across the paving in long, uneven patches, with darker areas between them. I enjoy how the plaza remains open enough for those colours to register before the eye reaches the buildings. Flagpoles, railings and small lamps introduce finer vertical lines through the middle distance.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe architecture varies across the frame. Taller buildings rise on the left and centre, while lower facades and trees give the right side a different scale. Rows of windows form repeated patterns within each structure. Some are lit, others dark, creating an irregular arrangement inside the more formal building outlines.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat holds my attention is the way the light connects those separate parts. The warm lamps at ground level echo the smaller window lights above, while the blue sky gives them a common background. The wet foreground carries that relationship down to the bottom of the image.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI see this as a city photograph for someone drawn to Boston, evening architecture or urban views with strong colour. On a wall, the horizontal composition offers both an open foreground and a layered skyline.
