Painted fish stretch across the corrugated metal, old shop lettering wraps around the corner, and the pavement sits empty below. I photographed the storefront after dark in 2019, drawn to the details that remain visible after a shop has closed for the day.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe corner gives the view two faces. On one side, green tones and painted forms sit beneath a worn sign; on the other, blue shutters catch brighter light. The narrow white signs between them repeat the words “Fishing Tackle,” turning the building’s edge into a strong vertical line. Above the shutters, dark blue woodwork and red brick bring another layer of texture. Light runs across the ridges of the metal, so the painted images break into fine horizontal bands as you look more closely.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI wanted to retain the storefront’s ordinary character. Its lettering, chipped surfaces, and painted shutters say more about this particular corner than a wider view could. The closed shop has a quieter presence, but it still carries the visual energy of its signs and colours. This print offers a Dublin photograph for someone who enjoys street details and the city’s less formal moments.
