I found that relationship particularly interesting: one face is fully visible, while the person beside it remains turned away. My photograph keeps both within a tall frame, allowing the scale of the displayed image to become immediately clear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is Jaume Plensa’s Crown Fountain in Chicago’s Millennium Park. In this view, the tower’s surroundings largely disappear, leaving its glass-block surface to fill the background. The repeated rectangles run across the displayed eyes, nose and mouth, making the face both recognisable and visibly constructed from a grid.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eColour adds another small but definite point of focus. The man’s yellow jacket and red backpack stand out near the lower right, while the much larger face carries softer pink and grey tones. A narrow strip of pavement remains along the bottom. I like how little space the figure needs to change the way the entire screen is read.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor someone interested in public art and the encounters it creates in a city, this print offers a direct, closely framed example.
