The darker trunks become clear marks within it, and the shadows on the grass add another layer of irregular shapes. There is no broad sky to pull attention away from the grove; the photograph stays close to the trees and the ground they occupy. On a wall, I see it offering the softness of a rural landscape together with the structure of repeated trees.
