Smooth caps sit above rough stone, with an icy fringe along the right-hand ledge. These details give the shoreline a sense of substance even as the surf briefly covers parts of it. I like the contrast between those solid forms and the thin mist hanging over the rocks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe restrained colour is part of the scene’s character. There is a cool blue within the water, but white, charcoal, and grey carry most of the composition.
